Do I have to have cancer to join Wayward? No, you do not have a diagnosis of cancer to enroll in our program. Any woman who ever has been affected by cancer may join. Maybe your best friend was diagnosed and you have your own story to share.
How do I prepare for my adventure? You will work with our team who will help you prepare physically and emotionally for your adventure trip. This may be in the gym, in counseling, and/or participating in one of our workshops.
Do I need medical clearance to participate in a trip? Yes, you will need medical clearance by a licensed physician. How much does a trip cost? The cost of each trip varies. Our trips range from 20 dollars to 3400 dollars. Each participant will be expected to bring some "skin to the game" by contributing or fundraising at least 25% of the total cost of the trip or experience.
What's usually included in a trip? Since we often partner with guiding companies, most of the group gear will be covered. Also included is most meals, travel, and lodging expenses. However, you will be responsible to pack your own clothing, snacks, foot wear, and personal necessities.
How long do the trips last? A trip can last anywhere from a day to four days. If I do not have my own money to cover the cost of a trip, what are my options? Please see our donate page to learn more about how you or someone else may assist with the expense of a trip.
Who leads the outdoor adventure trips? For our more specialized adventures, we partner with professional guides. For our hiking and backpacking experiences, the Wayward Adventure team will be leading them.
